If you and your family love Shrek, then you need to visit Shrek’s Adventure at County Hall. This is a magical filled day out for any Shrek fan as you’ll be able to collect special ingredients needed for a magic spell to transport you home, visit Cinderella in Shrek’s swamp, rescue Pinocchio, and watch fairy-tale themed shows. It’s a packed day out and the experience lasts approximately 75 minutes.

Dinosaurs in the Wild

If your children love dinosaurs, then this is a day out for you. Get up close and personal with dinosaurs at Dinosaurs in the Wild at Greenwich Peninsula, where you will step back 67 million years into the past. Here you’ll be able to take a dinosaur safari, witness Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops roaming in their natural environment, and interact with dinosaur eyeballs, teeth and claws, and see what’s inside a dinosaur poo! Plus there is so much more for you and your children to enjoy.

The day out is ideally aimed at children over 5 years of age, and the average running of the time is 70 minutes, so it’s best to allow 1.5 hours for your visit.

Little Bird are offering 30% off ticket prices that start from £15.40 for a child, and there are group family tickets available too.

If you fancy heading out of the city and enjoying a little bit of fresh air, the Bluebell Railway in Uckfield is for you. This is said to be one of Sussex’s best days out, and you will get to ride on a real steam engine through the countryside. It’s great to entertain the children, and they should hopefully love riding on a real locomotive steam train through the beautiful High Weald.

This sounds like a perfect day out to me, and fingers crossed the weather will be good too. Tickets are reasonably priced at £7.30 for a child’s return ticket and £14.50 for an adult’s ticket. Under 3’s go free, and the journey takes approximately 40 minutes.
